England 2-3 Croatia

What a load of old pants. Apparently the FA are meeting in the morning at 8:30 to "discuss Steve McClaren's future". I'm thinking behind the counter at Burger King...

I'm just moving the blog onto a new server - bear with me if you run into any performance issues.

Thanks,

Website wranglings

Hi everyone

As you may have noticed, the forums/match reports have been so popular that the database has received "excessive connections" to the point where it was causing problems on the server. My web host has pulled that part of the site, until we can determine how to solve the problem, so bear with me while I try to get it sorted.

You may also have noticed the addition of the disclaimer at the top of the page. Apparently the "blazers" at the county FA aren't too keen on this site, so I've added that to make it absolutely clear that this site is not connected with the league or FA in any way. Hopefully, the fact that the forum is currently broken should make them all very happy indeed.

As for the forum, over the closed season, my intention is to redevelop things a bit, so that I can tighten the security up. People have been signing up with accounts very similar to other users' accounts, and have then been posting messages on the forum passing themselves off as other people. Now, I'm all for a bit of banter, but that makes me a bit uncomfortable, and I've had a few emails from concerned users. So, come next season, you'll probably have to sign up for new accounts, and verify your email addresses before you can post. I may look at moderating new users' posts until I'm happy they're legitimate. Moderation is something I've always shied away from, but I have to strike a balance - the alternative is to take the forum down permanently, which would be a shame.

As I'm going to be looking at the site anyway, now's a good time to hear any comments or suggestions on things you want on here...

Cheers,

Mike
